*ONE WEEK AFTER THE BATTLE AGAINST ZELDA*

The Villager was called to a discreet location by an anonymous guest. She was told to arrive to the location alone at an incredibly specific time in an incredibly specific location. While suspicious, she didn't expect the worst and showed up anyway. What could possibly go wrong?

The place was essentially a large grass field, marked with one giant tree amongst a endless swarm of green. As she strolled towards the location, a familiar figure emerged from behind the tree.

"Zelda?" Villager asked. "Is...is that you?"

"I'm glad you recognized me so easily."

Zelda folded her arms. "And before you gloat about your victory, there is no need--you've earned my respect and support."

Villager scoffed. "Hah! Serves you ri--"

Zelda leaned towards her, and threateningly whispered "WHAT DID I JUST SAY."

The Villager instantly silenced herself.

"At any rate," Zelda continued, "I need to tell you about something important. Something about this tournament."

"Huh? What's that?"

"The woman running this tournament has evil intentions. It is my code as a princess of her people to stop this. She does not conduct this for pure competition. Only for her amusement. Plus, she took a man dear to me...the Hero of Time, Link."

The Villager recalled something. "Link, huh?"

"That's his name, yes."

"Green hat? Man of few words?"

"That's better than I could possibly describe him."

"That guy's the referee!"

"Exactly my point! Even when I request for him, the message is delivered, but he ignores me for the woman in charge of this: Midna, the Twilight Princess. She awaits anyone who continues to succeed in this tournament."

Villager raised an eyebrow. "Is that what you came to warn me about?"

Zelda nodded. "She won't directly interfere or cheat, but I do want to warn you that the road ahead will not be easy. I hope my battle with you proved as much."

The Villager slowly flashed back to how brutal that match was. "More than enough," she remarked.

"Your next opponent is a friend of mine: Princess Peach of the Mushroom Kingdom. I admit that she's a bit too giddy for my liking, but her interest in battle matches no other. Despite her looks, she is by no means some worthless punching bag. But I know you can beat her."

Suddenly, an unrecognized voice came from behind Zelda. "Reaaaaally? You KNOW she can beat me?"

Zelda gasped and turned around.

Pink clothing, blonde hair...that was most certainly Princess Peach.

"H-how did you get here?!"

"You accidentally contacted me to arrive here, it appears. What, you don't want me here?"

Peach, despite getting trashtalked previously,  seemed to be very optimistic and cheery. She suddenly noticed our green clad protaganist. "Oh, I'm fighting against you next, aren't I?"

The Villager stood proudly. "Eeeeyup! And I'm definitely going to win!"

Peach laughed. "Don't get too confident, now. I've got a lot of experience with athletic events; I'm excited to fight you!"

"Oh yeah?! Well--Well, I...uh...chopped down trees and pulled out weeds! And led a whole town full of animals!"

Peach shrugged. "I pull out turnips and lead a kingdom filled with scratchily voiced denizens with two plumbers to aid me. I've done it all."

"Alright, she's got me there." thought the Villager.

"No hard feelings though, alright? I'm fighting for fun; and to help out my ally Zelda!"

Zelda cleared her throat. "The more either of you fight and win, the more potential you show to reveal the rest of Midna's plot once and for all. I have no idea what it is, but it's most likely something nefarious."

The Villager raised her hand. "Wait, why are you assuming it's something bad?"

Zelda shook a bit with some mix of anger and sadness. Peach whispered into the Villager's ear. "She's taking Link not being with her hard. Just roll with it."

Villager corrected herself. "I mean, yeah, Midna. Totally evil. 100%. You're not crazy, Zelda."

Zelda smiled softly. "Of course I'm not. Now, both of you, get to practice. Your fight's coming soon and I'd recommend you hurry."

The two competitors nodded and walked off, continuing their journey for glory...and to stop Zelda's weird boyfriend problems. But they will soon learn there's much more to Midna's plot than that...maybe?
